“Ruby Tuesday” 

“Ruby Tuesday” is a story inspired by the feeling engendered by the classic Rolling Stones hit where someone significantly passes through your life leaving a bittersweet mixture of grief and gratitude.

Soccer Viewing Gatherings in the Richardson IQ^® 

Experience soccer viewing in the Richardson IQ^®. View indoor or out on big screens while live soccer happens all around you on Soccer Spectrum fields. With both indoor and outdoor bars and an onsite kitchen with a classically trained chef, expect food and drink specials as well.

Free Coworking in The CORE District 

Communion Neighborhood Cooperative is inviting the community to enjoy its open coworking area for free this summer, with free Day Passes available every Wednesday. The open coworking area includes access to high-speed internet, and a variety of comfortable workspaces. Passes may be picked up on Wednesday just inside the front door.

Ears Up Dog Obedience Class 

Take the next step in your dog training journey. Join the life skills novice class to learn how to communicate with your dog and teach them skills they need to be an integrated part of the family. Once that training is complete you and your pup can advance to the advanced rally class where you will work on proofing foundation behaviors from the previous class and add many more challenges and distractions.  

Time: 6:15-7:15 p.m. (Life Skills Novice), 7:30-8:30 p.m. (Advanced Rally) - Classes run through Aug. 26.

Soccer Watch Party in the Plaza 

CityLine will transform into the ultimate neighborhood watch party for USA vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina. There will be a giant LED screen, patio vibes, match-night energy and a summer evening built for gathering loud.

Stars and Smiles 

Join the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center after dark to explore the night sky, discover the nocturnal animals that call the wetlands home and uncover the science behind the stars. This event will include space-themed crafts and educational activities that are truly out of this world. This is a come-and-go event.

Adaptive Summer Luau 

Come out for this genuine luau feast at Heights Family Aquatic Center. There will be swimming, sliding, lounging and an authentic steel drum player.

July 4

Family 4th Celebration 

The City of Richardson annual Family 4th Celebration is held at Breckinridge Park. This traditional, patriotic salute is free and open to the entire community. Attendees can bring picnics, blankets and/or lawn chairs and enjoy children’s activities, concessions, a patriotic musical salute and fireworks.  

Parking is limited, therefore a free round-trip shuttle service will be offered from the designated off-site parking locations at 3001 & 3101 President George Bush Turnpike in Richardson. Space is limited on the shuttles, so please be mindful of the number of items you are traveling with. Shuttles will begin at 6 p.m. and the last bus will depart from the off-site parking to the park at 8:45 p.m.

Richardson Community Band at Breckinridge Park

Associate Richardson Community Band Conductor Jane Chambers will pull out the stops for this 250th birthday of the United States. While you are waiting for the amazing fireworks show, bask in the heartwarming, patriotic music of the band. It’s going to be one for the books.

1st Saturday Walk & Talk Bird Tour 

Join the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center to learn about the birds that live at the wetland. Led by master birders, the tour is for beginning and intermediate birders. Learn how to use binoculars, field guides, keep a life list and identify birds.

Play a round (or two) of disc golf at Breckinridge Park. The disc golf course of Breckinridge Park was designed by Eric McCabe, one of the most-renowned disc golf course designers and the winner of the 2010 Professional Disc Golf Association World Championship.

Tiny Time Capsules 

Decorate your own tiny time capsule to save your memories and tell a story for your future self to unearth. Bring your own container or use one provided by the Richardson Public Library, then take it home to fill and hide. This program is for kids ages 5 and older. Children younger than 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

UV Safety Awareness 

This presentation will focus on UV safety and the importance of protecting your skin from harmful ultraviolet radiation. Attendees will learn about the risk of excessive sun exposure, including skin damage and skin cancer, as well as practical ways to stay protected. This program will be presented by Methodist Richardson Medical Center.

Table Tennis Beginners Class 

This beginner table tennis program is for children who want to learn table tennis while having fun and taking a break from their studies on weekdays. Each session involves different fundamental techniques. The group lessons allow the students to participate in games and competition. In addition to physical and mental benefits, the training provides an opportunity for students to learn how to deal with competition and cope with both winning and losing.

Richardson Urban Naturalist: Wildlife Presentation 

Beat the summer heat and attend a special interactive wildlife experience as Wild Things Zoofari brings the zoo right to you indoors at the Huffhines Recreation Center. Christmas in July Cookie Decorating Workshop – Register by July 21 

Celebrate the holiday season early at the this festive cookie decorating workshop. In this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop, you will decorate six cookies using four icing colors while learning essential decorating techniques. The class will cover baking basics along with foundational royal icing skills like piping, flooding and adding detailed finishing touches. No experience is needed and all supplies will be provided.

Richardson Disc Golf Tournament – Registration Open
