“Finding Neverland”
This magical, heart-warming musical, based on the story behind J.M. Barrie’s creation of Peter Pan and the hit movie starring Johnny Depp, follows the relationship between playwright J.M. Barrie and the family that inspired “Peter Pan.”

Free Coworking in The CORE District
Communion Neighborhood Cooperative is inviting the community to enjoy its open coworking area for free this summer, with free Day Passes available every Wednesday. The open coworking area includes access to high-speed internet, and a variety of comfortable workspaces. Passes may be picked up on Wednesday just inside the front door.

Ears Up Dog Obedience Class
Take the next step in your dog training journey. Join the life skills novice class to learn how to communicate with your dog and teach them skills they need to be an integrated part of the family. Once that training is complete you and your pup can advance to the advanced rally class where you will work on proofing foundation behaviors from the previous class and add many more challenges and distractions.
Time: 6:15-7:15 p.m. (Life Skills Novice), 7:30-8:30 p.m. (Advanced Rally) - Classes run through Aug. 26.

Disc Golf at Breckinridge Park
Play a round (or two) of disc golf at Breckinridge Park. The disc golf course of Breckinridge Park was designed by Eric McCabe, one of the most-renowned disc golf course designers and the winner of the 2010 Professional Disc Golf Association World Championship.

Republic Services Recycling Center Tour
The City of Richardson, in partnership with Republic Services, is offering an exclusive opportunity for residents to participate in guided recycling tours at the Republic Services facility in Plano. These tours are designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the recycling process, from material collection to sorting and processing, demonstrating the critical role recycling plays in environmental sustainability.

Jason’s Deli Spirit Night – Fundraiser for Annie’s Place
Join the Richardson East Rotary Foundation at Jason’s Deli to raise funds for the addition of a custom pavilion to the Ann Eisemann Inclusive Playground area. The pavilion will be called Annie’s Place in honor of Ann Eisemann. Enjoy dinner at Jason’s Deli and proceeds will go toward this project.

Finn’s Cookie Contest

6th Annual Moth Night with Sam Kieschnick
Celebrate National Moth Week at the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center with a family-friendly event featuring Sam Kieschnick, an urban wildlife biologist in the DFW area with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Sam’s expertise and enthusiasm will guide you through the fascinating world of mothing – a hobby where light traps and bait attract moths for observation and identification.

Tales for Tails: Meet the Dogs, RROB-Style
Come meet the friendly dogs and handlers who help kids build reading confidence during Tales for Tails. After a short interview-style program, enjoy time visiting and petting the dogs around the room. We’ll have poetry books on hand (inspired by Richardson Reads One Book pick) to read to the dogs, as well as a DIY dog treat bar so you can take a treat home to your pup. This Richardson Public Library-sponsored program is for all ages.

Family Improv: Camping
From cabin to cots, we have all had our share of camping ordeals. Join The Core Theatre to explore new experiences like hiking in swamps to roasting hot dogs in the Sahara (campfire not needed.) Encounter strange forest creatures that some may call Sasquatch. This improv show is one night only.

The Unserious Summit – Presented by Compete to Live

The First Line Writing Workshop: Unforgettable Characters
Plots are fun, but compelling characters keep readers interested in your stories. If readers identify with your characters, they will follow them into any situation. Join the editors of “The First Line” to explore character development. You will learn the first steps in creating complex and believable characters that will drive your stories. Groundbreakers: Post-War Japan and Korea from the DMA Collection
“Groundbreakers” brings together artists who played with materiality, space and performance in postwar Japan and Korea after the 1950s. This exhibition is organized by The University of Texas at Dallas in collaboration with The Dallas Museum of Art.

Throughlines – Nebula Gallery Exhibit
Throughlines, features student work from UT Dallas. Students were challenged to create artist books or zines inspired solely by the title of a photograph from the collection, without ever seeing the image itself. The resulting works explore connections between language, imagination and visual interpretation, and are displayed alongside their photographic counterparts.

Art Piece Unveiling – A Masterpiece in LEGO Bricks
The Richardson Police Department invites the community to attend the unveiling of a one-of-a-kind LEGO replica of the Richardson Police and Fire Public Safety Campus. It was created entirely from LEGO bricks by Garland Police Officer John Capers. The project was made possible through the generous support of the Richardson Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (RCPAAA), whose funding brought the vision to life. The LEGO replica will be permanently displayed in the main lobby of the Richardson Police Department, where visitors can enjoy it during normal business hours.
