Art Piece Unveiling – A Masterpiece in LEGO Bricks 

The Richardson Police Department invites the community to attend the unveiling of a one-of-a-kind LEGO replica of the Richardson Police and Fire Public Safety Campus. It was created entirely from LEGO bricks by Garland Police Officer John Capers. The project was made possible through the generous support of the Richardson Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (RCPAAA), whose funding brought the vision to life. The LEGO replica will be permanently displayed in the main lobby of the Richardson Police Department, where visitors can enjoy it during normal business hours.

Parks and Recreation Appreciation Events

To close out National Parks and Recreation Month, Richardson Parks and Recreation staff will host customer appreciation events. There will be a popcorn bar and drink giveaways for customers while supplies last.

Learn how to improve your use of Microsoft’s word processing program. Learn how to use timesaving shortcuts, customize MS Word’s layout, create your own reusable styles and how to insert charts and manipulate the data. Laptops will be provided for the class. Richardson Disc Golf Tournament – Registration Open 

Register to participate in Richardson’s Disc Golf Tournament. There will be one round consisting of 18 holes. In partnership with Innova Disc Golf, there will also be prizes for top winners in both divisions and player packs.

Bury Me in a Dirty Suit: Resilience and Meaning after 9/11 

Darin Kinder, a 25-year veteran of the Secret Service and a survivor of the 9/11 attacks, will lecture about his book, “Bury Me in a Dirty Suit.” The book covers resilience, teamwork, meaning and other important themes also reflected in the 2026 Richardson Reads One Book pick. This Richardson Public Library-sponsored program is for adults and teens.

1st Saturday Walk & Talk Bird Tour 

Join the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center to learn about the birds that live at the wetland. Led by master birders, the tour is for beginning and intermediate birders. Learn how to use binoculars, field guides, keep a life list, and identify birds.

“Finding Neverland” 

This magical, heart-warming musical, based on the story behind J.M. Barrie’s creation of Peter Pan and the hit movie starring Johnny Depp, follows the relationship between playwright J.M. Barrie and the family that inspired “Peter Pan.”

The RCBeboppers are back and ready to sizzle. The Richardson Community Band will bring back the fabulous Catherine Nodurft to sing some old classics like “Love is Here to Stay” and “Time After Time.”

String Bean Spirit Night – Fundraiser for Annie’s Place 

Join the Richardson East Rotary Foundation to raise funds for the addition of a custom pavilion to the Ann Eisemann Inclusive Playground area. The pavilion will be called Annie’s Place in honor of Ann Eisemann. Enjoy a meal at The String Bean and proceeds will go toward this project.
