Capital Projects and Engineering is responsible for the implementation of the City of Richardson's Capital Improvement Programs including General Obligation Bond Programs (G.O.) and Certificate of Obligation Bond Programs (C.O.).
The department periodically presents CIP Status Reports of current capital improvement programs. In addition to managing funded capital improvement programs, the department also maintains an inventory of capital needs that can be used to develop new bond programs.
Richardson Residents approved a $115 million bond package on November 3, 2015 for a 6 year debt program. No tax rate increase is associated with the bond program. The Richardson City Council reviewed several presentations in Spring and Summer of 2015 leading up to the calling of the 2015 bond election.
