Seeking Public Input
Public participation is very important to the hazard mitigation planning process. Dallas County has developed a Hazard Public Survey to allow the public to provide input and comments about the hazards in their communities.
The public participation survey is available at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DallasCountyHMAP
Current Status- 2016 to 2021
The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) coordinated with neighboring Dallas County jurisdictions to update the Dallas County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HazMAP).
The plan was approved by the State of Texas Mitigation Section and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Dallas County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan was adopted by Richardson City Council on February 8, 2016. Updated approvals are required every 5 years.
The purpose of this Plan Update is to reduce the vulnerability of people and property in the planning area to the impacts of hazards and to become eligible for mitigation funding programs from FEMA.
