Required Construction Permits:
The following Construction Permits are required unless specifically exempted by the Fire Code:

Exception: When the work only affects fewer than ten (10) sprinklers.

Battery Systems:

Exception: When the work only affects fewer than 5 notification appliances affected, firmware/software updates, replacing boards of the same model with chips utilizing the same or newer firmware. 

A fire alarm permit is also not required when ONLY adding new supervision of a hood suppression system to an existing fire alarm panel, however, the installing fire alarm licensee must be present during hood suppression acceptance testing to test the supervision.
