Richardson’s annual Trash Bash event returns on Saturday, April 11 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

This year’s event will be held in the parking lot of First United Methodist Church, 503 N. Central Expy.

Please note that this year’s event will only be accessible using Custer Road.

NEW THIS YEAR

The electronics recycling and document shredding event will not be held on Trash Bash Day. Instead, it will take place on Saturday May 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at The Heights Church, 201 W. Renner Rd.

  • Residential Cooking Oil Drop-Off

    Used cooking oil and kitchen grease is collected by the City to keep it out of the water system and recycled into biofuels. Cooking oil and grease must be in a non-glass, disposable container that will be left on site.

  • Emergency Management Information

    Drive by and pick up a free preparedness bag.

  • Network of Community Ministries Collection Event

    Network of Community Ministries will collect items including boxed and canned meals, hygiene items (toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, shampoo and conditioner), diapers and more.

    Donation List for Network of Community Ministries
    • Baking supplies (baking mixes, cooking oil, etc.)
    • Breakfast foods (oatmeal, granola bars, etc.)
    • Boxed meals (boxed mashed potatoes, Hamburger Helper, etc.)
    • Canned meals (ravioli, lasagna, spaghetti)
    • Canned soups
    • Hygiene items (toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, conditioner)
    • Diapers (sizes 3+)
    • Baby wipes
    • Adult diapers
    • Underwear for kids and adults (new and in original packaging)
    • Socks for kids and adults (new and in original packaging)
  • Lion’s Club Eyeglasses Collection

    Donate your used eyeglasses. Prescription and reading glasses, sunglasses, plastic and metal frames will be accepted. Children’s glasses are also needed.

  • Free Compost/Mulch Pickup

    Drive by to receive a free bag of Texas Pure compost or mulch.

Volunteers Needed

If you are interested in organizing a community cleanup as part of Trash Bash, you can fill out the online form, e-mail TrashBash@cor.gov or call 972-744-4080. All trash collection items such as trash bags, gloves and litter tongs are provided by the City. Trash Bash is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, but groups can schedule their local cleanup events in the days surrounding the event.
