CORPlan's pharmacy/prescription services are through Express Scripts (844.604.9160).

Your BCBS card should be presented to the Pharmacy in order to receive covered benefits.  Lost cards may be reordered on the BCBS Website

is a prescription benefit, managed by Express Scripts.  Participants in the plan have two ways of getting up to a 90 day supply of long term maintenance medication.  You can fill those prescriptions either through home delivery from Express Scripts Pharmacy or at a Walgreens Pharmacy that is part of a Smart90 network. Use the Smart90 Process Map to assist you in deciding between home delivery or filling our maintenance medication at a Walgreens Pharmacy.  If you have additional questions, refer to the Smart90 Program FAQs, or contact Becky Murray (972.744.4005) or Chelsie Montgomery (972.744.4007) in the Human Resources Department.

BCBS Prescription Categories:

  • Generic: Generics are the most cost effective drugs to you and to CORPlan, and offer the lowest copay. Generic drugs are pharmaceutically and therapeutically equivalent to their brand-name counterparts.
  • Preferred: Preferred drugs are available at the mid-tier copay. The Preferred brand-name drug consists of the vast majority of high-quality branded drugs.
  • Non-Preferred: Non-Preferred medications have the highest copay. These drugs may not offer clinical or cost advantages over other medications in the same therapeutic category.
  • Specialty: Specialty medications include injective medications and high cost medications above $500.

BCBS Glucose Meters are Available for You

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas is offering you the choice of a preferred blood glucose monitoring system at no additional charge. Information and instructions can be found on the flyer provided by BCBS.
