PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TESTING
The City of Richardson requires a pre-employment drug test to be successfully passed prior to any job offer being finalized.
SATISFYING ID REQUIREMENTS:
All city employees must comply with federal government requirements. The City of Richardson participates in the Federal E-verify system of verifying identity and right to work in the United States. E-verify mandates that one of the items presented must be a picture ID. The City of Richardson requires a valid Social Security Card or alternate ID to satisfy requirements for establishment of IRS accounts.
CRIMINAL HISTORY
Criminal history checks are completed on all newly hired employees. Applicants should truthfully answer all questions on the employment application.
- A criminal conviction does not disqualify you for most positions. What you were convicted of, and how long ago, should be stated.
- Disclosure of probation or deferred adjudication does not disqualify you for most positions.
Applicants selected for hire must authorize the City to conduct a criminal history records check. Refusal to authorize a criminal history records check, will result in disqualification.
