Gymnastics Class Descriptions

Parent & Tot

This class is for children ages 2 to 3 who are not yet ready to be in class by themselves. The child must be accompanied by an adult who is willing to help the student follow the instructor’s directions. If the child is not potty trained, they must wear a diaper.

3 Year Old

This class is for 3-year-olds who are ready to take class without a parent. Students must be completely potty trained. Coordination, introduction to gymnastics equipment and skills, safety rules, and preparation for learning are some of the areas covered.

4–5 Year Old

This class is for children ages 4 to 5 who are not yet in kindergarten. Emphasis in the class is on coordination, beginning strength, flexibility positions, safety rules, and introduction to basic skills on gymnastics equipment. Students are grouped according to age, physical ability, and skill level.

3–5 Year Old Evening Preschool

This class is for children ages 3 to 5 who are ready to participate by themselves. The student must be potty trained. Students will then go to the multi-purpose room, where they will work on all their other gymnastics skills. Children will be in an enclosed room during most of the class for their safety and to provide a quiet learning environment.

5 Year Old Girls

The emphasis in this class is on coordination, beginning strength, flexibility, safety rules, and introduction of basic skills on equipment. This class is for students who are in kindergarten.

5–7 Year Old Boys

This class emphasizes coordination, strength, flexibility, safety rules, and introduction to basic skills on boys equipment. It is for boys ages 5 to 7.

8–10 Year Old Boys

This is a beginner program for boys ages 8 to 10 who are interested in gymnastics. Beginner through advanced beginner skills are emphasized. Emphasis in the class is on coordination, strength, flexibility, safety rules, and introduction to basic skills on boys equipment.

Girls Beginner Gymnastics

This class emphasizes beginner coordination, strength, flexibility, and gymnastics skills on vault, bars, beam, floor, and trampoline.

Girls Intermediate Gymnastics

This class is for girls who have progressed through the beginner program and are ready to work on more advanced skills. Instructor recommendation is required.

Girls Advanced Gymnastics

The advanced girls program is a non-competitive program for gymnasts. This program is for those who have progressed through the beginner and intermediate programs and are ready to work on a more advanced level. Instructor recommendation is required.

Girls Pre-Team Program

Students need to be physically and emotionally ready for the pre-competitive program. Physical fitness, strength, flexibility, body awareness, and new skill achievement are some of the main areas stressed. Instructor recommendation is required.
