Trash your trash. Pack it in and pack it out. Keep our parks natural by picking up litter and putting it in its place.
The Clean Park Patrol Passport can be picked up at Heights Recreation Center, Huffhines Recreation Center and the Gymnastics Center. Or download a digital version of the Clean Park Patrol Passport to print at home.
The Clean Park Patrol Passport contains educational facts on litter, in book activities and easy challenges.
Challenges:
- Pick up as many pieces of trash as your age at one park
- Pick up as many piece of trash as your age at your favorite playground
- Tell three people why it is important not to leave trash behind
- Have a picnic or snack at a park and clean up after yourself
- Complete coloring or interactive items in the Clean Park Patrol Passport
- Memorize the pledge and repeat it to a Parks and Recreation staff member at the rec center front desk
- Go to a park and play on a playground
- Recycle a water bottle
- Use a refillable water bottle
- Watch a storm water video at www.cor.net/CleanParkPatrolPassport
- Take the Litter Quiz on page 11 in the Clean Park Patrol Passport
- Tour the AgriLife Facility, Republic Services or John Bunker Wetlands Educational Facility
Any child that completes the challenges and turns in the completion sheet to Huffhines or Heights Recreation Center is eligible for a drawstring bag, water bottle and other fun items.
