2020 Young Authors



Write and illustrate your own picture book, virtually!

For middle schoolers entering 5th - 9th grade this fall. Required registration is open now. Must be a Richardson resident with a Richardson Public Library card. Registration ends on June 19th. Call 972-744-4358 to register. Must provide an email address.

Check in weekly through Dropbox, Google Docs, or email to stay on track and get updates.

Pick up  supplies at Youth Services Help Desk:

  • June 1 - 19 (pick up optional supply folders)
  • June 22 - 26 (pick up mandatory cover art paper)

Drop off completed books on or before July 31:

  • During the week of July 26 - July 30, any time, at the Youth Services Help Desk
  • On July 31, between 10:30 am - 12 pm at the Youth Services Help Desk

Work on details to complete your book. Check in for edits, feedback, and final approval by July 25

 Submit book by 12 pm, Friday, July 31
