Overview

The Solid Waste Master Plan was developed to help the City plan for long-term solid waste management as Richardson continues to grow and service needs evolve. The plan reviews the City’s current solid waste system, identifies short-term and long-term needs, and provides recommendations for future improvements.

The plan includes recommendations for facilities and infrastructure, cost of service, single-family residential collection, multifamily and commercial collection, household hazardous waste, the recycling drop-off location, public education and outreach, and implementation planning.

What the Plan Covers

The Solid Waste Master Plan includes the following major topics:

• Facilities and Infrastructure – Reviews regional and local solid waste facilities, including landfills, transfer stations, recycling facilities, construction and demolition material facilities, and organics processing facilities.
