Join the City of Richardson for its second annual Counting People, Planning Progress program. The data collected will help the City evaluate how active transportation is changing and gives a more nuanced view of how volumes of users biking and walking differs across the City.

The City of Richardson has been using a combination of permanent and mobile pedestrian and bicycle counters to better understand how users are interacting with our active transportation network. By conducting observations throughout the City, staff will gain valuable insights into travel behavior, monitor trends over time, and identify opportunities to enhance infrastructure and connectivity.

Volunteering for the active transportation count is simple and beneficial. To participate, please visit the sign-up page here: Volunteer.

In addition, volunteers are invited to attend a short virtual training session on April 23 from 3:00–4:00 PM to review counting procedures, safety considerations, and how their efforts support improvements to the City’s transportation network. To register, please use the following link: Training Session. The presentation slides will be made available below following the session.
