The Library Board advises the City Council on all matters related to the Richardson Public Library and carries out additional duties as assigned by city ordinance.

Library Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday, on a quarterly basis (February, May, August and November), at 6:30 p.m. in the Millwood Creek Conference Room (L128) at the temporary Library location 2360 Campbell Creek Blvd, Ste 500 Richardson TX 75082. Special meetings may be called.

ROLE OF THE BOARD:

  • Advises City Council on all matters regarding the Richardson Public Library.

BOARD MEMBERSHIP:

  • Board appointed by City Council.
  • Seven resident members.
  • At least one member must reside in each of Districts 1 through 4.
  • Two-year terms with a limit of four consecutive terms.

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY:

  • Must be a qualified voter.
  • Must have been a resident of Texas for at least one year.
  • Must be a Richardson resident for at least six months immediately prior to the date of appointment.
  • Must hold no elected public office.
  • Must not be in arrears in taxes or other liability due the City of Richardson.

MEETING FREQUENCY:

  • The board is expected to meet quarterly (February, May, August and November).
  • Members are expected to attend at least 75% of scheduled meetings.
