Jennifer Justice was elected to represent City Council Place 2 in May 2021. Jennifer is an attorney who received her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and her law degree from the SMU Dedman School of Law. She was in private practice for several years focused on the areas of financial and commercial litigation before moving in-house, where she is a litigator for a Fortune 50 company.

Before becoming an attorney, Jennifer served for nearly ten years as the director of global community building for a nonprofit organization.

Jennifer has a history of service and participation in the city, including president of the Mark Twain Neighborhood Association, member of the Civil Service Board, member of the Library Board, Leadership Richardson (Class 32), Richardson Citizens Fire Academy (Class 16), Richardson Citizens Academy & Resource Education Series (Class 2), and the Richardson Citizens Police Academy (Class 42).

She currently serves as the City Council’s liaison to the Animal Services Advisory Commission and the Community Inclusion and Engagement Commission. Jennifer also serves as president of the North Central Texas Council of Governments’ (NCTCOG) Executive Board, where she represents Richardson in regional collaboration efforts involving transportation, infrastructure, water, public safety and other issues affecting North Texas communities.

Jennifer was part of a regional group recognized with NCTCOG’s Regional Cooperation Award for work related to the North Texas Municipal Water District Customer Premium methodology. The effort involved coordination among NTMWD, its member cities and customer cities to address a long-term regional water rate issue affecting service costs, rate fairness and future planning across North Texas.

Jennifer and her husband, Mike Sanders, both grew up in Richardson and are graduates of L.V. Berkner High School.
