Chief Financial Officer
Finance Department Director Kent Pfeil will serve in the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Pfeil joined the City of Richardson in 1998 when he was hired as the Treasurer and Revenue Manager. He was promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Finance in 2000, and was made responsible for managing the Accounting, Property Tax, Customer Service/Meter Reading and Municipal Court Divisions of the Finance Department.
Pfeil was promoted to Director of Finance in 2006 and oversees Accounting, Property Tax, Municipal Court, Fleet and Materials Services, Purchasing, Treasury and Utility Customer Service Operations.
Pfeil received a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of North Texas in 1992 and his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1990 from Northwestern College, Orange City, Iowa. He is a Certified Governmental Finance Officer.
Pfeil is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas (GFOAT) and has served the organization as its president, president elect, treasurer, north representative and as chair of the newsletter committee. He is a member of Government Treasurers’ Organization of Texas (GTOT) and Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). Pfeil has also served as a board member of the Texas Municipal League and is a graduate of Leadership Richardson Class XVI.
