Additional Bond Propositions

Proposition C | Parks and Recreation
$22,200,000

Proposition C would authorize bond funding for parks and recreation capital improvement projects at various locations throughout the city. Projects included under this proposition address park facilities, aquatics facilities, playgrounds, trails, and related park infrastructure.

Use of Adopted Plans

Parks and recreation projects included under Proposition C were informed by the following adopted City plans, which were used as planning references to help identify types of projects and locations for consideration:

Aquatics Projects

Aquatics projects under Proposition C include capital improvements at existing aquatic facilities and construction of new aquatic features at selected park locations.

Projects may include:

  • Cottonwood Pool

    Removal of the existing Cottonwood Pool and construction of a sprayground facility, including associated site improvements and supporting infrastructure, as needed.

  • Canyon Creek Pool

    Renovation of the Canyon Creek Pool, including updates to pool infrastructure, decking, mechanical systems, and associated site elements, as needed.

  • Breckinridge Park Complex B

    Construction of a sprayground facility at Breckinridge Park Complex B, along with supporting restroom facilities and parking improvements. The project may include associated site and utility infrastructure, as needed.

Playground Renovation Projects

Renovation and replacement of playground facilities, including playground equipment, surfacing, and associated site improvements, as needed.

Playground projects: Breckinridge C, Creekhollow, Crowley South, Durham, Glenville, Heights, Huffhines, McKamy Springs, Northrich, Richland

Trail and Pedestrian Bridge Projects

  • Construction of a pedestrian bridge at Breckinridge Park over Rowlett Creek, along with associated trail segments and supporting infrastructure. The project may include the bridge structure, trail approaches, foundations, grading, drainage features, and related site improvements, as needed.
