The Community Garden Program supports Richardson-based nonprofit organizations in creating community gardens that improve quality of life, foster neighborhood connections and expand access to fresh, nutritious food. Approved partners receive a 95% discount on water usage charges for garden irrigation.

  • Support local food assistance through required donations of produce

Who Can Partner

Eligible organizations:

  • Nonprofit or religious organizations that plan to utilize owner-occupied property in Richardson and are located on at least one non-local street
  • Sites with adequate off-street parking and space for a minimum of 8 garden plots (each ≥32 sq ft, ~256 sq ft total minimum)
  • Organizations willing to make at least 50% of plots available to Richardson residents (verified annually)
